How Post-Meeting Assessments Can Enhance Your 1:1 Meetings with Direct Reports

Unlock the full potential of your 1:1 meetings and help your direct reports succeed and thrive!

What is a 1:1 Meeting?
A 1:1 meeting is a scheduled and recurring discussion between you and your direct reports, focused on understanding what’s top of mind for them.

Why Are They Important?
Research shows that regular 1:1 meetings are crucial for improving employee engagement and driving team success. These meetings not only boost individual performance but also contribute to your overall success as a leader!

What’s the Problem?
Many 1:1 meetings fall into the "status update" trap, where conversations focus on routine updates rather than addressing growth, development, and personal needs. This limits rapport-building and trust.

How Can You Lead Successful 1:1s?
Avoid getting bogged down by superficial topics. Focus on meaningful short- and long-term goals, as well as the personal needs of your direct reports. Aim for conversations that foster growth and development.

How to Get Feedback on Your 1:1 Meetings?

  1. Go to your profile in the top right corner of the Kairos page.
  2. Select Settings > Kairos Tools & Assessments.
  3. Turn on "Get feedback on 1:1 meetings with my direct reports".

Once enabled, your direct reports will receive a 4-question assessment after each 1:1 meeting. We’ll only send this survey to direct reports listed in the Kairos system, not for ad-hoc meetings.

Track your feedback and monitor your progress on the Meeting Experience.
